West Moss-side Organic Farm and Centre nr Stirling Scotland

Overview

West Moss-side is a multi-functional venue, all the facilities have been developed in order to encourage access and educational opportunities at the farm and the surrounding land, including Flanders Moss National nature Reserve - the very special wild landscape of a lowland raised bog.

The renovation has been done to the highest of environmental and design standards whilst maintaining the intrinsic structure and character of the 19th century farm building. It is a stunning space which will inspire with its stone, slate, and wood and stimulate visions with the wide views of mountains and farming landscapes.  The steading has been given a new life as a multi-functional space, equiped with the latest IT facilities and with full access to the ground floor. There is an exhibition/ reception area downstairs with one presentation room. Upstairs there is a further large presentation/workshop area which occupies the full length of the hay loft. The whole centre can be booked or alternatively one or other of the meeting rooms/workshop can be used. There are toilet facilities on both floors.

Come and use the space, and while you are here you can

For Group Meetings

Facilities for group meetings, seminars, away days ...

The entrance area is a place to mingle oer a cup of coffee and home-baking and view the displays about the unique natural and cultural heritage of West Moss-side Farm. The place is full of art and craft pieces many made and created by Kate Sankey. There is full access to the ground floor and toilet. On fine days, a paved area outside can be used, with table and chairs.  You will have to ask us about the about the staircase which is a bit special! To see why visit the Construction story

There are two main meeting/training rooms with full IT and multimedia facilities.

The Byre 15' x 15' is on the ground floor. We have retained one beautiful stone wall of the old byre. There is always an exhibition of work of visiting artists and tutors as well as work by Kate Sankey.  The space is multi-functional.  It is a room for presentations, small group work or for IT training at the 6 workstations. For a presentation or seminar the room will accommodate 15-20 people. There is a white board with screen, and full multi-media presentation facilities.

The Hay loft 40' x 12' is on the first floor. It is a wonderfully light room with six large windows which respect the long slate roof-line and give stunning views to the mountains of the Trossachs.

The room has a 'chill-out' space around a wood burning stove at the gable end - so you can relax to gather your thoughts on soft chairs or sit on the deep window seat.

The floor in the main part is the original pine floor. The room is suitable for all kinds of events. Just some include  presentations or seminars; courses or training events with an opportunity for small group activities or activities such as craft workshops and master classes. It is ideal for groups of up to 18 around a board room style table. Or theatre style it will seat 30.  There is a coffee and tea making area with a deep sink and a toilet.

The whole centre can be booked for a day, half day or by the hour. Use of pcs, and multimedia facility can be booked separately and we can provide technical backup to set things up as you want them. Once here the whole centre is wireless enabled. Booking details
