About the tutor
|
 I've known Catherine since she began basket making. She used to live just up the road in Thornhill village before heading out to the Isle of Eigg. Basket making came naturally to her and her dedication to understanding the weaves and the structures of the traditional baskets of Scotland and Ireland can be seen in her own beautiful creations. It is great to have her at West Moss-side to pass on her skills. ( Kate Sankey)

Prerequisite knowledge/skills
|
No previous skills are required to come on this workshop. You may have
some experience of working with willow before but the techniques are
very different to those for weaving a basket or a creel. |
Course format

Other
the day you will have time to learn the knotting technique to create
your very own Taska platter. Catherine will demonstrate and there will
be time to practice and share problems under her expert guidance. |
After completing this course...
|
As well as having your own
beautiful Taska to take home, you will know how to go about making one
for yourself and you can take some willow home to work on. |

A notebook and a camera! All tools will be provided. But bring a pair
of secateurs and a Stanley knife or similar if you have them. |
