A one day workshop where participants will create lots
of beautiful small pieces - unique presents and decorations using a variety of
wool, fibres and bits and pieces. You
will see the versatility of felting techniques as well as colour and texture. |
About the tutor
|
 It is great to have Charlotte Haines tutoring here at West Moss-side. She will be working together with Saskia Gavin in a series of three felt workshops introducing different felting techniques. Charlotte Haines and Saskia Gavin are two felt and fibre artists from Edinburgh. ( Kate Sankey)

Prerequisite knowledge/skills
|
No
previous felting knowledge is required for this workshop just enthusiasm and a
willingness to experiment, create and play with textures. |
Course format
|
The
morning will be spent designing and using different techniques to create
3-dimensional pieces. You will then be
able to experiment as long as time allows and your creative juices are running. |
After completing this course...
|
As well as mastering a range of felt-making techniques, you will take home lots of small pieces including: fine felt pouches, felt beads and decorations, gift bags, flowers - it will all depend on the complexity of your designs and your creativity! |

Materials
will be provided, however if you have any objects such as drift wood, pebbles,
scraps of wool, knitting, textiles or lace you want to incorporate into your
pieces then please bring it all along. |
