Course Details - Felt Knit Wall Hangings

New for 2014, textile artist, Jeanette will share with you the amazing technique of creating beautiful wall hangings combining machine knitted webs with felt.

Title Felt Knit Wall Hangings with Jeanette Sendler

Textile artist Jeanette Sendler takes her inspiration from the rough yet beautiful Scottish landscape. She’s passionate about working on a large scale where she puts her textiles literally back into the landscape. During extensive stays on Shetland she taught herself machine knitting enabling her to knit large scale webs to incorporate into the environment. She also developed a combination of fine and chunky structures which she later made into interior hangings as well as a range of wearables.

On this one day workshop Jeanette will share her passion to inspire you and introduce you to the techniques and  possibilities of this technique

About the tutor
I was introduced to Jeanette through an exhibition at the Collins Gallery in Glasgow .... I was fascinated by her textual felt which reflected the natural world and a few days later visited her in her studio - I returned with two pieces. One Reflections on Peat  is 'at home' in the centre. The other graces my house and I enjoy every day. I was so pleased when she agreed to come to West Moss-side to teach. It is great to have her at West Moss-side to pass on her skills. (Kate Sankey)
